We’re Updating the Website — and the Firearm Descriptions Have Gone Completely Off the Rails
If you’ve been poking around the Frontiersmen Firearms website lately, you may have noticed something.
The product descriptions are getting… different.
By “different,” I mean the corporate customer-service voice has been dragged out behind the building and disposed of.
We’re still giving you the actual specs.
We’re still telling you what something is, what it does, who it makes sense for, what condition it’s in, and anything important you actually need to know.
But we’re also having some fun with it.
So now you may find yourself reading a perfectly normal ammunition listing and suddenly Igor is reviewing it in Russian.
Or Carol walks into the description as the only adult in the room.
Or Hank, our basset hound and Chief Morale Officer, gets mentioned for contributing absolutely nothing to daily operations besides naps and snack-related expenses.
And every once in a while, if you dig deep enough into the website, you may discover references to the ongoing conflict with the Forest Syndicate.
Yes.
That is apparently a thing now too.
The Raccoon General is involved.
Dickhead the Bear has made appearances.
The Spite Squirrels remain hostile.
We’re not going to explain all of it.
That would ruin the fun.
Why Are We Doing This?
Because most gun websites are boring as shit.
Same distributor photo.
Same three-line description.
Same generic paragraph about “quality, reliability, and performance.”
You can visit ten sites selling the exact same SKU and barely remember which one you were on.
We don’t want that.
If you land on Frontiersmen Firearms through Google at 1:00 in the morning looking for some obscure .303 British blank ammunition, I want you to get the information you need…
…and then five minutes later wonder:
“What the fuck kind of gun shop did Google just send me to?”
That’s the goal. 😆
Yes, We Use AI
Before the Facebook detectives start warming up their keyboards:
Yes.
I use AI.
I also use Google, spellcheck, calculators, power tools, and occasionally other humans who know more shit than I do.
AI helps me organize the ADHD tornado into readable paragraphs.
The jokes are mine.
The opinions are mine.
The stories are mine.
The decision to let Igor emotionally review 7.62x54R blanks in Russian?
Also mine.
Unfortunately.
We’re Still Taking the Important Stuff Seriously
This part matters.
We take firearm safety seriously.
We take compliance seriously.
We take product accuracy seriously.
We take taking care of customers seriously.
We just don’t believe any of that requires us to write like a bank brochure.
So if a product is used, we’ll show the ugly angle too.
If something is weird, we’ll tell you it’s weird.
If BigRed personally hates how a pistol fits his giant hands but still thinks it’s a good firearm for somebody else, we’ll say that.
If we don’t know something?
We’ll tell you we don’t know.
Painfully honest firearm sales, with significantly less corporate bullshit.
More Website Work Is Coming
We’ve been steadily adding more inventory, improving filtering, organizing categories, expanding the night vision side, adding educational content, and generally trying to make the site more useful.
At the same time, I’ve decided the site should actually feel like us.
Not some sanitized version of us.
So expect more useful content.
More weird products.
More collector stuff.
More old guns.
More night vision.
More deeply unnecessary commentary.
And occasionally a product description that causes you to send the link to your buddy with:
“You need to read this shit.”
If that happens?
Perfect.
We’re doing it right.
