Vietnam Reenactors, Apparently We Need to Talk

I understand WWII reenactment.

Civil War?

Sure.

Revolutionary War?

Obviously.

Then Facebook started showing me Vietnam reenactment groups.

And honestly?

It makes sense.

The firearms are historically significant, the equipment is collectible, the uniforms have an enormous enthusiast following, and there's plenty of history worth preserving.

But because reenactors are reenactors, within approximately twelve seconds somebody is arguing about whether a specific pouch was actually issued in 1968.

Reenactors remain undefeated at making literally anything complicated.

7.62x39mm obviously played a major role during the Vietnam era, so if you're doing an appropriate historical blank-fire application:

Your M16 guy has blanks.

The AK guy wants blanks.

Somebody is arguing about web gear.

And one guy has somehow spent $11,000 making sure he looks appropriately uncomfortable.

Film, Theater, Training, Reenactments & Whatever the Hell Your Group Is Doing

Maybe you're making a film.

Maybe it's a historical production.

Maybe you're running a demonstration.

Maybe you're doing a Vietnam event.
