The Ruger Mark III Target is one of those pistols that doesn't need much of an introduction.
It's a stainless .22 LR target pistol with a long heavy-profile barrel, adjustable sights, wood grips, four magazines, and enough factory paperwork to suggest somebody actually managed to keep all the stuff that normally disappears into a drawer fifteen minutes after buying a gun.
This example is used and in good overall condition.
The stainless finish presents nicely, the wood target-style grips give it a classic look, and the pistol comes with its Ruger hard case, manuals, paperwork, and four magazines as pictured.
Four magazines matter.
Nobody has ever gotten halfway through an afternoon shooting .22 LR and complained that they brought too many loaded magazines.
BigRed's Take
I like Ruger Mark pistols.
They're simple, accurate, inexpensive to shoot, and have been introducing people to handgun shooting for generations.
They're equally at home punching paper, ringing steel, teaching fundamentals, or spending an afternoon turning a brick of .22 into a pile of tiny brass cases.
This particular Mark III is also just a good-looking pistol.
Stainless steel.
Wood grips.
Long target barrel.
Adjustable rear sight.
No optic hanging off it.
No weapon light.
No compensator that looks like it came off a small diesel engine.
Just a proper old-school .22 target pistol.
There's also something deeply satisfying about bringing four magazines to the range with a .22.
Load all four.
Shoot all four.
Spend several minutes wondering why you didn't bring eight.
Repeat.
There is one unavoidable subject when discussing a Ruger Mark III:
Disassembly.
If you've owned one, you already know.
If you haven't, I'm not ruining the surprise.
Some lessons are meant to be experienced personally.
The good news is this one is currently assembled.
I strongly suggest we all appreciate that accomplishment and move forward.
Igor's Official Assessment
Igor looked at it for approximately five seconds and said:
«Слишком похож на немецкий Люгер. Значит, мусор. Уберите это от меня.»
Igor does not like it.
Moving on.
Condition
This Ruger Mark III Target is being sold as a used firearm in good overall condition.
The stainless finish shows normal signs of handling and previous use. The wood grips show visible cosmetic wear and handling marks, particularly in areas that can be clearly seen in the photographs.
Nothing is being hidden.
Please inspect all photographs carefully.
The actual pistol pictured is the pistol you're buying.
We're selling used firearms, not creating Tinder profiles for them.
You get to see the bad angle too.
Included Equipment
This pistol is being sold with the equipment and accessories pictured, including:
- Ruger Mark III Target .22 LR
- Stainless steel finish
- Wood target-style grips
- Adjustable rear target sight
- Four magazines
- Ruger factory hard case

And no, before somebody emails me:
The enormous rifle cartridge sitting next to the pistol in the photos is not included ammunition for the Ruger.
It's there for scale.
The Ruger is chambered in .22 Long Rifle.
If you looked at that cartridge and thought, “I wonder if...”
No.
Stop.
Why the Ruger Mark III Still Makes Sense
Everybody needs a decent .22 pistol.
Maybe not literally everybody, because apparently lawyers enjoy ruining perfectly good sentences, but you understand what I mean.
For a new shooter, .22 LR gives you an inexpensive way to work on fundamentals without dealing with substantial recoil.
For experienced shooters, it's cheap trigger time.
For everybody else, it's simply fun.
That's the part people sometimes overcomplicate.
Not every firearm has to solve a tactical problem.
Sometimes you want to put cans on a berm, shoot tiny groups on paper, ring a piece of steel repeatedly, and go home having spent considerably less money on ammunition than your buddy with the .308.
The Mark III Target is very good at that.
